Community Guidelines

Consent first
Consent is the foundation of the BDSM lifestyle and of this community. Every dynamic is negotiated, never assumed. Ask before you message someone with anything personal, respect a "no" the first time, and never pressure anyone.
Only share photos or stories about other people if they agreed. Never reveal someone's identity, address, workplace or other private details, and never "out" anyone.
No nudity or sexual content
Photos and videos must not show nudity or sexual acts, anywhere on the site — in posts, comments, messages, albums and profile pictures. Fully clothed portraits, gear and leather, rope art on clothed models, events, places and craft are welcome.
Write about the lifestyle with respect. Explicit descriptions of sexual acts and sexual role-play are not allowed.
Nothing for sale
Do not offer or ask for sex or sexual services, escorting, paid sexual content, "sugar" arrangements, financial domination or anything similar, on or off the site. Do not use BDSM Family to advertise such services elsewhere.
Safety before everything
Talk about risk honestly. Follow "safe, sane and consensual" and "risk-aware consensual kink": know the risks, agree limits and a safeword, and have a plan for aftercare.
Do not encourage practices that can cause serious or permanent harm, such as restricting breathing. Posts that teach dangerous techniques as a challenge or a dare will be removed.
If you are thinking about harming yourself, please contact a local emergency number or a crisis line now. You can also report a post if you are worried about someone.
Respect
No harassment, threats, bullying or hate — including for race, ethnicity, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability or age. Kink is not an excuse for abuse; abuse is never kink.
Be who you say you are. No fake profiles and no pretending to be another member, a moderator or a public figure.
Meeting in person
- Meet in a public place first, such as a munch.
- Tell a friend where you are going and set up a safety call.
- Agree limits and a safeword before any scene, and stop the moment they are used.
- Trust your instincts. Leave if something feels wrong, and report members who ignore boundaries.
Reporting and what happens next
Use Report on any post, comment, photo, profile, listing or message. Reports are private: the person you report is not told who reported them. Moderators review every report; reports about minors and non-consensual content come first.
Depending on what happened, moderators remove the content, warn the member, limit features, suspend or permanently ban the account. Anything involving minors is removed at once, the account is banned and the case is reported to the authorities.
