Privacy Policy

1. Who is responsible

⁨BDSM Family⁩ (⁨bdsmfamily.com⁩) is responsible for the personal data described here. You can reach us, including about privacy, through the contact form (topic: Legal).

2. What we collect

  • Account: email address, username, password (stored only as a one-way argon2id hash), account type (woman, man or couple), language and settings.
  • Date of birth: yours, and your partner's for a couple account. Members see only the age, never the date; a moderator compares it with your age check.
  • Profile: what you choose to add — display name, country and city, about text, role tags, interests and limits, who you are looking for, sexual orientation if you choose to give it, profile photo and cover.
  • Content: posts, comments, photos, videos, voice notes, polls, listings, events, messages, notes you pin on the map and their replies, reactions, likes and votes.
  • Age check: the video or photos you record for the check, and a photo of your ID document if you provide one, plus the decision and its date.
  • Location: your city, and — only if you turn on "Near me" — a position rounded to a zone of about 11 km. Precise GPS is never stored.
  • Activity and security: sign-in sessions (device type and IP address), profile views, post views, reports you make or receive, blocks, and messages you send us through the contact form (with your IP address).
  • Calls: who called whom, when and for how long. The sound and picture of a call are never recorded or stored.

We do not collect your real name, your phone number or your ethnicity.

3. Why we use it

  • To run the site and your account (our contract with you).
  • To keep members safe: age checks, moderation, fighting spam and abuse, and protecting accounts (our legitimate interest and, for age checks, legal obligations).
  • To show you relevant members, rooms and events — for example daily matches based on the interests and preferences you chose. You can change or remove these at any time.
  • Sexual orientation and interests are sensitive data. We use them only because you chose to give them (your consent), and only for the features above. You can remove them in your profile at any time.

We do not sell your data, we do not use it for advertising profiles, and we do not share it with data brokers.

4. Who else is involved

  • Cloudflare handles the site's traffic (security, protection against attacks and delivery) and therefore sees IP addresses and technical request data.
  • When a member asks to translate a post, or when an administrator fills in missing interface translations, the text is sent to an AI translation service (an OpenAI-compatible API) to be translated. No account details are sent with it.
  • The pages load their fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when it delivers them.
  • Voice and video calls are relayed through our own server; the connection is encrypted end to end and the other person never sees your IP address.
  • Authorities, when the law requires us to share data, and to report child sexual abuse material.

Everything else — the database, photos, videos and messages — is stored on servers we run ourselves.

5. How long we keep it

  • Account, profile and content: until you delete them or your account. Account deletion becomes final after a 7-day grace period; then your account, profile and content are erased. Copies can remain in backups for a limited time until those are overwritten.
  • Age-check videos, photos and ID images: deleted after the decision, within the retention period set by the moderators (30 days by default). The decision itself (approved or not, and when) is kept as a record.
  • Sign-in sessions with their IP address: deleted when the session expires (at most 30 days).
  • Messages sent to us through the contact form: as long as needed to handle them.

6. How we protect it

Connections are encrypted (HTTPS). Passwords are stored only as hashes. Photos are re-encoded on upload and videos are stripped of their metadata, which removes camera details and GPS location. Media is only served to signed-in members who are allowed to see it, and age-check media only to the moderators.

7. Your rights

You can see and change your data in your profile and Settings. You can also:

  • download a copy of your data (Settings › Account › Download my data);
  • delete your account (Settings › Account › Delete account);
  • withdraw consent for sensitive data by removing it from your profile;
  • ask us for access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability, or object to how we use your data, through the contact form;
  • complain to a data protection authority.

8. Adults only

⁨BDSM Family⁩ is only for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we learn that an account belongs to a minor, we close it and delete its data. If you believe a minor is using the site, please report it.

9. Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will tell you on the site before the change applies. The date of the current version is shown at the top of this page.
